The Zeus Group – Weoley Castle Shop
Leading UK e-liquid and vape juice manufacturer, The Zeus Group, is proving it’s not all doom and gloom for the High Street this year, with the opening of its physical vape-shop today (October 16th). Located in south-west Birmingham, Weoley Castle, the 715 sq.ft. shop will be the brand’s first foray into in-person retail, having enjoyed huge sales success during the pandemic following the launch of its online store.
The Zeus Group’s shop will sell the brand’s all-day vape juices, as well as exclusive hardware and limited-edition merchandise. Having amassed a cult-following since it was founded in 2011, the shop’s expansive variety of discontinued ranges will be just the flavour that long-term fans and bargain hunters have been pining for.
Founded almost a decade ago by CEO Paul Curtis, The Zeus Group has expanded from its humble beginnings in Paul’s kitchen and now spans across two operational units in Erdington, supplying products to over 700 vape stores across the country. As a family-run business, the launch of the outlet store will see Paul’s son take the reins as store manager, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge regarding the vaping industry, Zeus products and as well as a zany sense of humour.
With the sector adding £104bn gross value to the UK economy last year, recent headlines depicting retail as up in smoke have cast a dark cloud over the country’s financial future. However, The Zeus Group’s Managing Director and retail supply-chain expert, Tim Allinson, is confident that there is no better time for the brand to open its first physical store. Tim comments:
“We’re really excited to be gearing up for the launch of The Zeus Group’s first outlet shop. We already have a strong retail presence supplying to vape stores across the country, the decision to launch our online store selling direct to consumers during lockdown proved to be a game-changer for us. Having a physical store is a great opportunity for us to continue connecting directly with local customers, offering them value and access to clearance items that they can’t get anywhere else, without affecting our pre-existing partnerships with retailers who stock our products across the country.”
After weathering the many challenges presented by COVID-19, this latest project comes hot on the heels of The Zeus Group’s focus on domestic expansion and a successful first half of 2020. As well as launching its online store, the lockdown saw The Zeus Group successfully rebrand and launch five new flavours, as well as adapting to offer World Health Organisation-standard hand sanitiser to protect customers and staff during the ongoing pandemic.
