The Worcester Warriors Foundation celebrate receiving £2,500 from the Aviva Broker Community Fund Awards 2023 charity scheme with the support of Sutcliffe & Co Insurance Brokers, who have successfully secured a share of this year’s £300,000 prize fund.

It was a joint celebration this week for the Worcester Warriors Foundation and Sutcliffe & Co, with an award-winning application to help aid their Dementia Sports Café, with a cash injection to expand the invaluable support they provide in the local community. The Dementia Sports Café is an initiative offering a wide range of adapted sports from chair-based games to seated exercise and walking sports such as Boccia, walking rugby, walking cricket, table tennis and much more.

The award ceremony which was held on the 17th October at the Honourable Artillery Company Barracks, London, was attended by insurance brokers from across the UK, whereby over 160 brokers took the opportunity to apply for funding for good causes earlier this year. Plus, the awards were made extra special by being presented by former England rugby player, Will Greenwood MBE.

“We are so pleased to have won £2,500 for the Worcester Warriors Foundation Dementia Sports Café” explains Duncan Sutcliffe, Managing Director at Sutcliffe & Co. He adds “The charity has experienced many financial and logistical challenges since the collapse of the Worcester Warriors Rugby Club so helping to support their work in the community is so important to the County”.

Carol Hart, CEO of the Worcester Warriors Foundation says “We are delighted have been nominated for this award by Sutcliffe & Co. To be a finalist in the same room as so many worthy causes is simply wonderful. We are grateful also for the donation of £2500 in support of our Dementia Sports Café.  A life- improving initiative for so many people and their families who are living with dementia”.
