Louise has extensive leadership and financial services experience. She supports businesses and leaders to become more successful through strategic planning, coaching and strong leadership.

She currently runs Board Assist Ltd, a consultancy business and holds NED positions and is a trustee for a charity.

  1. Tell us a little bit about your business…

Board Assist has one purpose: to positively impact businesses and the people that run them.

Whether you’re looking to get your business to the next level, need support to build your strategic plans, or get help with a specific element of your business, I want to hear from you.   I can assist with many aspects of running a successful business such as client strategy, operational excellence, financial management, business development, risk management and people leadership.

  1. How did you get into the industry?

I’ve been in financial services for 25 years and have always loved supporting businesses and individuals meet their goals.

  1. What are the biggest opportunities and challenges in your industry?

There are lots of consultants out there and it can be difficult to find the right fit for business owners and often they don’t understand the benefit of having someone alongside them supporting their growth journey. There is a huge opportunity for so many businesses to achieve excellence in all key areas.

  1. How would you describe your leadership style?

My leadership style is ‘coach’ – I like to inspire, empower and drive excellence.

  1. How do you get the most out of the people who work for you?

By listening, inspiring, empowering and agreeing clear plans.

  1. What are the most crucial elements to your business running smoothly and being successful?

Continual learning, networking and adding value from day 1.

  1. How has the past 12 months been for you?

I started my business in May last year and it is doing really well but more importantly I have added value to many businesses both new and established.

  1. What will the next 12 months look like for your business?

I’m looking to take on more clients this year and can’t wait to support more owners.

  1. What are the highlights of your career so far?

I was previously Head of Private Banking for Lloyds Banking Group and am really proud of the impact I have made to many people over the last 25 years.

  1. What’s the biggest business mistake that you’ve learnt from?

Letting my judgement be clouded by emotion and therefore responding negatively to a tough situation. I learnt that eliminating my own self interest actually made for better outcomes for everyone and meant that I’m trusted to always do the right thing for the business.

  1. What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve been given?

Always act with integrity.
