A leading Warwickshire solicitors has boosted its team with the addition of a new trainee solicitor.

Sophie Jackson started her training within the wills and probate team and is now working within the family team at Blythe Liggins Solicitors in Leamington Spa. She will spend time within various departments at the Rugby Road-based firm as her training contract progresses.

Sophie gained her undergraduate degree in law at Birmingham City University, going on to complete the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and a master’s degree with BPP University in Birmingham through virtual learning during the pandemic.

Before joining Blythe Liggins she worked at a Birmingham-based law firm, where she gained experience in litigation practice relating to Covid 19 business interruption claims.

Sophie said: “At my interview I got a really good vibe and feel for Blythe Liggins, and since I joined I have found it to be such a collaborate and positive workplace.

“Family and probate are really interesting areas of practice, and my day-to-day work has included everything from taking instructions from clients, drafting documents and working closely with the solicitors within both teams.”

Sophie is set to complete her training contract and become a fully-fledged solicitor in February next year. As part of her training, she will spend time working within other teams at Blythe Liggins, including its residential conveyancing and commercial property departments.

Donna Bothamley, head of the wills and probate department at Blythe Liggins, said: “Sophie has been a wonderful addition to our team and hit the ground running since joining us.

“We look forward to giving her an insight into working life across various types of legal practice as she completes her training contract with us.”
