Silverstone Leasing has been named as a finalist in this year’s SME Northamptonshire Business Awards.
The award-winning vehicle leasing company has been shortlisted in the Family Business of the Year category, which recognises companies who combine their passion in business with their shared family values.
The Northampton-based company has introduced flexible working within its workforce in the last 12 months, with working hours to allow all staff to meet family commitments. They employed two new part-time team members who work around school hours.
Managing director Scott Norville has also employed his wife Sophie as the company accountant, who was previously working full-time in a similar role which involved nationwide travel and long stints away from the family.
Scott said: “All our staff are treated as if they’re all family members, and some of them are! It is this culture that leads to our team showing a unique attention to detail rarely seen in dealerships, but that’s why our customers keep coming back year after year.
“Having a family business is just that. Run by your family, for your family, and anyone you employ becomes part of your family – it’s a culture that’s grown over the years.
“I think family businesses have a greater sense of inclusion and loyalty than others as it isn’t just about the needs of the business but about the needs of the person too. Everyone has a vested interest in the company doing well and staying strong.
“We are very proud to have been named as a finalist in this category and we can’t wait until the winners are announced in June.”
The Grand Final ceremony announcing the winners of the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards will be held on Thursday 15th June at the Mercure Daventry Court Hotel.
