An East Midlands-based business which provides a range of allergy, intolerance and health tests to customers across the world is celebrating after winning a prestigious national award.

Test Your Intolerance, which is based in Castle Donington on the Leicestershire/Derbyshire border has received the Intolerance Testing Company of the Year accolade from the UK Enterprise Awards 2023.

The UK Enterprise Awards recognise market leaders, innovators and enterprising small to medium sized businesses that are thriving among fierce competition on a national scale.

Unlike other awards, the judges are made up from a research team which investigate various criteria including client dedication, innovation, business growth, longevity, online reputation, customer feedback and business performance.

The accolade strengthens Test Your Intolerance’s position as the UK’s leading allergy and food intolerance testing company and the news comes on the back of record sales – in January 2023 the business processed 12,912 tests compared to 6,385 in January 2022.

Cris West, who runs Test Your Intolerance with business partner Jason Wootton, said: “We are thrilled to have been recognised by the UK Enterprise Awards and this accolade is proof that we are leaving our competitors behind by offering unrivalled science, service and results.

“We provide allergy, intolerance, sensitivity, and other health-related tests to clients in more than 40 countries and our staff are committed to delivering the most accurate information available from our state-of-the-art laboratories.

“To have the whole team recognised with this award is the icing on the cake of an amazing year and we are delighted that our research, innovation and customer service continue to place us at the forefront of our industry.”

Test Your Intolerance, which is part of the Healthy Stuff brand, has been running for 14 years and also supplies kidney and liver function tests, as well as a prostate health tests and a kit that measures levels of Vitamin D.

Its range of home-use blood testing kits, which are approved by the Medical and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA), work by measuring reactions in the body which can uncover evidence of an allergic reaction or an intolerance.

It also supplies a prostate health test, a kit that measures levels of Vitamin D and a menopause kit, which allows people to detect elevated levels of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), which is a sign that they have started going through the menopause.

Cris added: “We know that our tests can make a really positive impact on the lives of people with food allergies and intolerances and it’s only with education and awareness that people can make the correct decisions around their health.

“This recognition is down to the quality of our products and the hard work put in by our dedicated team of staff. We offer the best testing and excellent nutritional support following the results to help our customers – it’s this team effort that has seen us pick up such a well-respected award.”
