    • NSPCC is looking to commission a new container on-site in Grimsby.
      • Together, Projekt and NSPCC will open up the opportunities that lie in renewables to primary school children, with an immersive VR experience.
        • The Studio will be landing in the next few weeks.
          • A duo of local businesses pledge to support Projekt’s bookable event offering.
          • Patrons and investors will gain a never-before-seen insight into Phase Two plans at exclusive #ProjketPatron event this month

The NSPCC has officially joined the queue to become a patron of Projekt Renewable. The Studio is well on its way to being operational, ready for budding podcasters in the area to share their voice, and two new #projektpatrons are on board to ensure guests attending any events are suitably fed and watered.

It’s been a busy few weeks…and that’s all without electricity, Wi-Fi and heating!

From Homes England and The Crown Estate (discussing all there is to know about renewables and marine conservation) to CATCH and Grimsby 2025, the visitors Projekt has welcomed since the boxes landed have led to some intriguing and genuinely exciting conversations. The latest of which, the team is delighted to say, has resulted in the NSPCC officially becoming a patron.

Not only that, but the charity is looking to commission work to begin on bringing its very own container to life at Alexandra Dock.

An aspirational beacon for Grimsby and beyond, Projekt Renewable was always built with the view to extend and evolve to suit the demands of both the local community and the renewable champions operating within the area. To have the NSPCC’s Together for Childhood, Grimsby as one of the potential additions to the original trio of boxes is an incredibly proud moment for the entire Projekt team.

Projekt Director, Richard Askam, said: “I’m beyond thrilled to be able to say we’re welcoming the NSPCC to Projekt Renewable Grimsby. For me, this addition highlights the amazing response we’ve had to Projekt so far – and that’s before we’ve even officially opened the doors!

“To have a national organisation, such as the NSPCC, eager to be involved, clearly seeing the merit in our Box Park approach to help improve awareness of opportunities that already exist, just validates everything we’ve been hoping to achieve. If any other organisations out there feel the same, there is still more room for containers to be commissioned, but be quick!”

Bernie Taylor, Development Manager for Together for Childhood Grimsby, NSPCC, added: “We’re delighted to be working with Projekt Renewable to amplify the voices of our local children and bring some of their wishes to life. Alongside partners in the Together for Childhood project, we’re invested in building community capacity so families can thrive – to do that, we need to work together to build the knowledge and awareness of what’s possible and ensure inclusive access to the right knowledge, learning and skills building for the whole community.

“That’s why Projekt Renewable is the perfect place for us to position our next activity, because of our shared commitment to being designed and led by the people who will use it, with a sharp focus on a safer, sustainable future.”

What’s next?

With electricity now finally on-site and solar power being installed in the coming weeks, the retrofit can continue at pace with both MyEnergi and RWE expected on-site in the coming weeks to complete their boxes with RWE having already inquired about taking additional space. And while our #projektpatrons get to grips with their containers, it’s also all hands on deck for our team as The Studio begins to take shape.

Dedicated to the future of podcasting, The Studio will be home to Projekt’s very own podcast hub, with our renewable champions from schools across the town taking the lead. With two sets of professional podcasting equipment having been donated, the Projekt team will be working with local businesses and schools to support the production of both video and audio-only podcasts. A showcase for how the local community can create user-generated content, powerful in its own right, allowing the people to ‘own’ the space and connect with it on a deeper level.

Alongside The Studio, Projekt has officially welcomed two new #projektpatrons – Mockingbird Streetfood and Docks Beers – as official event caterers. A partnership that will first be showcased at an exclusive #ProjektPatrons event taking place on October 19th.

Two months after Projekt Renewable touched down, the delivery team behind it is inviting patrons and investors along to Docks Beers to say ‘thank you’. The team will also be sharing never-before-seen plans for Phase Two – which will see this exciting initiative sky-rocket to the next level. Investors may have missed the boat on contributing to Phase One, but Phase Two will bring ample opportunity to join the rapidly growing group of Patrons spreading positive vibes across the region.

Chloe McKeown, Social Media and Marketing Manager at Mockingbird Street Food, said: “It’s great to see so much progress over at Projekt HQ. We were lucky enough to pop down a couple of weeks ago and the containers are looking fab.

“We’re so excited to officially be a part of such a wonderful initiative for Grimsby and our talented younger generations. We have a number of ideas on how we’re going to collaborate now our patronage is official, including utilising the produce that will be grown on-site at Projekt in our restaurant dishes – we can’t wait to see it all unfold and start catering some events at this fantastic hub.”

Following the inaugural #ProjektPatron event taking place his month, Projekt is also keen to launch a new networking event, targeted specifically at those working within the renewables sector. And, for local businesses and organisations to book for their own events the box park is open for your business.
