New Chair for health and social care social organisation

Robert Parkinson, Provide Community Group Chair

Essex-based health and social care organisation Provide Community has announced the appointment of Robert Parkinson as its new Group Chair.

Established as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2011, Provide delivers more than 50 health and social care services in NHS and community settings across the UK. The organisation also delivers research and development in healthcare innovation through Provide Digital and operates the Essex Wellbeing and Sexual Health Services.

Robert joins Provide as the social enterprise continues to deliver an ambitious growth and diversification strategy that includes investment in healthcare transformation and new acquisitions to grow its reach and capability. In 2021-22 Provide achieved growth of 15%, exceeding targets by 7%.

A former public and private sector commercial executive and consultant, Robert also holds posts as Chair of Ormiston Families and Woldingham School and volunteers at a Surrey-based charity for vulnerable and homeless people.

Robert says, “I see my role at Provide Community as helping lead a highly successful organisation into its next phase of development and growth outside contracted NHS and social care services. As Group Chair, I look forward to leading the Board as we develop our plans to keep our strategic focus and stay on track to deliver our ambitious objectives over the next three years.

“Provide is an outstanding organisation that is securing its position as a leading UK provider of health and social care for many years to come. We have an exceptional business culture and truly passionate people who care about the difference they make and live our values of care, innovation and compassion.”
