HeadOn PR Team on the Starlight Hike
Public Relations and Communications agency, HeadOn PR, has smashed their target to raise £1000 for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice by dressing in neon glasses and flashing bracelets and walking 10km around the streets of Cheltenham as part of Sue Ryder’s Starlight Hike.
The team of 10 took to the streets, along with over 700 people in fancy dress and glow in the dark accessories, to mark the PR firm’s 10th year anniversary by honouring the memory of a dear friend lost to cancer six years ago, to the month.
After a disco-style warm up, the team set off from Ashleigh Manor school in Cheltenham at 8pm, walking under the stars and passing through the peaceful grounds of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice along the way, until finishing just before midnight.
Ryan Blake, Director of HeadOn PR based in Eagle Tower, Cheltenham, who took part in the walk said: “Sadly, we had to say goodbye to a beloved friend six years ago this October. He was a popular, best dressed man that was well known in the communities of Cheltenham and Gloucester and was well cared for by Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in his final days.
“It was very moving to see the HeadOn PR team come together in his memory, and I couldn’t be prouder of them all. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone whose generous donations helped us reach our £1,000 target.”
The Sue Ryder StarLight Hike is an annual event to celebrate the memory of a loved one. Friends and family can either walk 5km or 10km under the stars to remember someone special, raise funds, and help create a future where everyone has access to the care and support they need at the end of their life.
