Katharine House Hospice’s Forget Me Not event returns in 2021!

Katharine House is delighted to announce that, after a gap last year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Forget Me Not event will be returning again this year!

A stunning display will be created this July at the heart of the Shugborough Estate as individuals and families celebrate and remember loved ones by dedicating forget me nots in their memory. The flowers, beautifully crafted by the British Ironworks Centre, will be displayed in the walled garden, an enchanting corner of Shugborough between 3 & 16 July and the names of those being remembered will also be on display for visitors to view. Covid-19 safety guidelines will be in place during the display.

Amy Ratcliffe, Katharine House Appeals Fundraiser said: We are so pleased to have been able to bring back our Forget Me Not appeal this year. The forget me nots, will form a stunning display and the sea of colour made up of so many flowers will be a beautiful tribute to lost loved ones. All funds raised will help to provide vital free care for patients at Katharine House Hospice and in the community and support for our families and carers.

The flowers are available to order until 21 June from www.khhospice.org.uk/forget-me-not for a suggested donation of £25 each, the donation also includes a pass to admit 2 people to the Shugborough Estate for a visit during the week of the display. Once the display has ended families will be able to collect their flower from a hospice shop and proudly display it in their own garden.

The appeal is kindly sponsored by Friel Homes, a family run housebuilder and groundworks company. Bill Friel said: Friels are delighted to continue to support Katharine House Hospice and their work to care for and bring comfort to families within our local community in their time of need.

Katharine House Hospice provides free care and support for adults and their families who are coping with progressive illness across mid-Staffordshire. It relies upon the kindness of the local community to help generate over 75% of the funds needed to run its range of vital services.
