Join hospice team for glamorous Snowdrop Ball

Guests at a previous St Richard’s Hospice Snowdrop Ball

Guests are invited to join a city-based hospice for its annual fundraising ball held at West Midland Safari Park.

St Richard’s Hospice is preparing to host its Snowdrop Fire and Ice Ball on Saturday, December 2, from 6.30pm to 1am.

Kelly Johns, Community and Event Fundraising Manager, said: “This event is the most glamorous in the hospice’s calendar and is always a great night out.

“It’s the perfect excuse for guests to get glammed up during the festive season while raising money to help us continue our hospice care.

“This year’s ball is all about icy elegance and fiery luxury – guests are very welcome to embrace the theme through their outfits.”

The evening includes a sparkling reception, a three-course meal with tea and coffee, live music followed by a DJ, a raffle, auction, and themed entertainment.

There will be prizes for the guests who dress most creatively in line with the theme, both for individuals and as a group.

Last year’s event saw 244 guests attend. The event raised, after costs, £16,448 for St Richard’s.

This year’s event is sponsored by Shrubbery Dental Practice and Knight Frank.

Katie Griffiths, Business Development Manager at Shrubbery Dental, said: “Sally-Anne and Jessica, the principals of the practice, are now in their sixth year of sponsoring this event.

“St Richard’s Hospice is a charity very close to our hearts here at Shrubbery Dental Practice and we feel very proud that we are able to support this amazing cause for another year!

“The Snowdrop Ball is a fabulous event and we can’t wait to get our sparkly dresses on and dance the night away.”

Shelley Stephenson, Associate at Knight Frank, said: “We have been very proud to support this tremendous charity for a number of years now.

“It offers an outstanding service and having visited the hospice, it provides such a positive environment for the patients and families they support.

“The fundraising team do a great job raising funds to help maintain and extend the superb level of service.”

St Richard’s Hospice is an independent charity caring for adults with a serious progressive illness, improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment to their last days and supporting those important to them.

Each year the hospice team supports more than 3,100 patients, family members and bereaved people in Worcestershire.

It costs £9.72m to run the hospice (21/22 audited accounts), which includes patient care and all the necessary support services.

St Richard’s relies on donations and gifts in Wills for the majority of its income with the remainder funded by the NHS.
