Heel & Toe Children’s Charity appoints Deputy Chief Executive

Amanda Tweedy

We are delighted to welcome Amanda Tweedy as Deputy CEO at Heel & Toe Children’s Charity.

Heel & Toe provides free and subsidised therapies to around 200 children with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities every week.  The charity has grown substantially over the last 15 years. Their second therapy centre in Chester le Street is nearing completion of a much needed extension, which will offer further therapies and help more children.

The charity receives no government funding and currently needs to raise £1 million each year, to continue providing life-changing therapies for children across the North East, so rely on support from local businesses and the community.

Amanda Tweedy, Deputy Chief Executive said:  “I am absolutely delighted and honoured, to be promoted to the new role of Deputy Chief Executive of Heel & Toe and to play a more pivotal role in helping the charity continue to grow and succeed.

I have worked for Heel & Toe for 12 years now, starting back in 2011 as Fundraising Officer, then progressing through the years to manage the Fundraising Team before my promotion.  In that time I have seen the charity grow so much.  Not only in regards to the number of children we help, but also the services we offer and the therapy centres we now own. We provide a life-line to so many families across the North East and I am so proud of all the staff for their hard-work and commitment.

I am really looking forward to taking on this new challenge and helping shape the future of the charity.”

Amanda’s appointment is a welcomed delight.
