Going ‘Deolali’ for the return of a Moseley favourite

Deolali Moseley

Situated in the heart of Moseley, Deolali is re-opening its doors this summer after four years of closure. The bar and restaurant made a name for itself when it originally opened back in 2005 and welcomed everyone from loyal locals to famous faces. The restaurant is now back with a bang; serving up a contemporary Indian-inspired menu, as well as the traditional dishes that it became best-known for serving for nine years.

Having been a hangout for stars like Ronnie Wood, Toyah Wilcox, Glenn Close and UB40, Deolali will be a welcomed return when it opens later this month. Following a tantalising short pop-up, Deolali Goes Pop, earlier this year, the restaurant is back serving up exciting, quality-assured dishes.

Situated in a converted coach house in the heart of Moseley Village, Deolali be serving up everything from low-key light lunches and after-work drinks, to date night dinners and large celebrations.

Small bites and bar snacks take centre stage at the new-look Deolali, with the likes of keema scotch egg, gunpowder king prawns, and masala spiced chicken livers shaking up some of Britain’s best-loved dishes. Moving on to mains, the menu is packed full of delicious dishes that take Deolali into a new era; including masala chicken kiev, slow-cooked railway mutton curry, and Bangoli spiced sea bass. If you’re looking for a more Anglo-Indian inspired dish, the tandoori chicken burger nan, Deolali fish and chips, and masala fries should be your go-to option.

Tariq Zaman, Manager at Deolali, said: “I am delighted to be opening the doors of Deolali once again – even more so because we are back and better than ever. There’s no hiding away from being a victim of our own success before and not quite being able to cope with demand, but an expanded kitchen, some new team members, and a more streamline menu means that we’re ready to return and really get Deolali back to where it has been before!”

In addition to the expanded kitchen and brand new menu, Deolali is also looking to introduce a new street food terrace and indoor live kitchen in the coming months.

Bookings can now be taken, and you can follow @deolalimoseley on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
