Find Me A Solicitor wins Birmingham Start Up of the Year 2023

Midlands-based startup Find Me A Solicitor has been named as the Birmingham Start Up of the Year 2023 at the Midlands finals of the StartUp Awards 2023 on Thursday 18th May.

Based in Birmingham, Dee Kundi is an experienced independent qualified solicitor and the CEO & Founder of ‘Find Me A Solicitor’. A fresh new business concept which is an independent free service for all individuals and businesses looking to find the right solicitor for all personal and business legal needs. Findmeasolicitor.co.uk have the knowledge and expertise to advise clients on finding a solicitor based on their needs, budgets, sector specialisms and all areas of law.

Findmeasolicitor.co.uk is a solicitor-type-brokerage and one of its kind for the UK, disrupting the legal profession in the way law firms obtain clients. They offer 30 minutes free legal consultation to help clients navigate the maze of appointing the best solicitor with a qualified solicitor without the need to fill out pages of form filling and data processing. They listen and understand what the client requires and sometimes that may mean that they give the advice for free without resulting in instructing a solicitor at all.

They work with hundreds of solicitors nationally and can help advise not only what type of solicitor the clients need but also who best to speak to and at what level of expertise. Each solicitor is vetted and approved before recommending the same to clients.

For clear transparency, they never charge the consumer or the client anything as they are 100% free legal service. They work with solicitors on a fee sharing arrangement and give back to the client or the referrer 5% cashback of the legal spend. Clients and referrers also have the option of giving the 5 % to their own nominated charity.

Dee Kundi, CEO of Find Me A Solicitor comments: “We are delighted and honoured to win this award. As a company running around 6 months this is a huge achievement for us and also for the Midlands. We noted that there was a gap in the market that was not client focused in instructing a solicitor but rather a firm law taking on instructions and on their terms. There needed to be a change with the need for ‘access to justice’ for all consumers and clients. This needed to be based on what the client required – their budget, sector and their requirements. We hope this is only the beginning to a long and successful journey.”

The StartUp Awards were established in 2022 to highlight the success of startups across nine UK nations and regions, and to celebrate the achievements of entrepreneurs in all sectors of the economy.

The Midlands final was held at The Custard Factory in Birmingham and saw 30 different awards given out to new businesses in categories such as Innovative StartUp of the Year, Medtech & Healthtech StartUp of the Year and Social Enterprise StartUp of the Year.

Helen Bierton, Chief Banking Officer at Starling Bank says: “Congratulations to all our entrepreneurs in the Midlands who have been shortlisted this year. It’s been so inspiring to learn about the challenges overcome to build their successful businesses. From green startups providing carbon negative mobile greengrocery delivery services, to a medtech creating a game-changing bionic arm that will change the perception of prosthetics, it’s great to celebrate such innovation from my home region.”

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, creator of the awards, said the events have celebrated the best new firms in the UK and recognised the amazing entrepreneurial talent across the nation. He said:

“In the second year of the Midlands Startup Awards, we have seen yet again the incredible contribution of new businesses to job creation, innovation, and prosperity across the whole of this entrepreneurial nation. It’s been an honour and a pleasure to read the stories of those individuals from across the Midlands who have spotted the opportunity and taken the risk to launch their own venture, especially at a time when the economy is still fragile after the Covid pandemic.”
