Expect Ltd awards event praises success of teams

Following on from the success of their Against All Odds showcase in September 2022, Expect Limited hosted their latest event to highlight the achievements of their staff with the help of Aintree Training.

An awards-based afternoon held at the Bowersdale Centre in Seaforth enabled guests to hear about the excellent qualifications completed and crucially, the work that goes into providing the high calibre courses provided by Aintree Training.

“Ultimately, it was a really good experience for everyone receiving their awards,” said Kevin Byrne, business development manager at Expect.

“We’ve worked closely with Aintree Training and have known director and principal trainer Chris Jones for many years who began working with Expect in 2004 until 2021 when he left to pursue his desire to fulfil a career and business in training.

“Chris has witnessed first-hand, the huge changes in Expect as a service provider, the community it serves and in the level of demand that we meet. We’re really grateful for the support Chris and co-director Anthony Shaw have shown in delivering both the training and making our awards event happen.”

Chris Jones commented on how Expect had moved with the times & changed to meet the needs and demands of its service users that he maintains in the early 2000’s “would have been unthinkable.”

“The work that Expect does as a charity, met through the support workers and managers that it employs has been central to my own personal growth with regards my own personality, character and ethics.

“I even met my (now) husband Anthony, who’s our director of customer services at Aintree Training whilst working at Expect- we were both support workers at the time and whereas I went off into Training, he went off into Care Home Management.

Chris added: “During my time I have met amazing people that can truly be described as ‘the best of us’, selfless in their support of others in need, even when they have precious little to spare themselves.  I have seen lives and futures built, made better, and sometimes even saved by the staff of Expect.”

Margaret Olivier, CEO of Expect Ltd believes the fact that Aintree Training is rooted in real world experience and understanding makes them ideal training partners for the Sefton-based charity.

“Both its directors, Chris and Anthony come from a background of extensive experience working within frontline health and social care services and we’re grateful to them helping to deliver Expect’s awards showcase at the Bowersdale Centre.”

Also present on the day was Dave Kelly, CEO of Daisy Inclusive UK who lit up the room with his defiant story of battling against going blind overnight to achieving success in both his business and personal life.
