Enjoy a plod & a pint for your local hospice this October

Wyre Forest charity KEMP Hospice has launched a brand-new event to enjoy the stunning scenery of Bewdley and the River Severn this October. The 8-mile Plod & A Pint is a sponsored walking event taking place on Saturday 7th October 2023 and will help to raise vital funds for the Hospice’s free care and support services.

Starting at the iconic Bewdley Brewery, walkers will head out along the River Severn taking on the River and Rail trail upstream to Upper Arley, before heading back to the brewery where they can enjoy a well deserved pint of the local ale on their return (alternative soft drinks will be available)

KEMP Hospice Community Fundraiser Vicki Wootton-Champion says, “This is a brand-new event for KEMP Hospice and it’s wonderful that we can team up with such a prominent local organisation as Bewdley Brewery.  We have some stunning scenery on our doorstep in the Wyre Forest and following the huge success of our summer canal walk in Kidderminster, we wanted to offer an opportunity for our supporters to explore more of the beauty of our local area.”

Bewdley Brewery will also be holding an Oktoberfest Celebration on the 7th October which everyone taking part is welcome to join after the Plod & A Pint, with additional drinks and street food available to purchase.

Vicki continued “We never charge for our care and support services, so we’re incredibly grateful to all the supporters who take part in our events and raise vital funds to support KEMP Hospice. We hope everyone can enjoy a wonderful day while doing something amazing for their local Hospice charity.”

You can find out more and register your place on KEMP Hospice website at www.kemphospice.org.uk/plod-and-pint.

The event is kindly sponsored by Bewdley based Parweld Ltd.
