The St Richard’s Hospice Family Bikeathon takes place in March
Cyclists of all ages and abilities are invited to saddle-up for a hospice fundraising challenge this March.
St Richard’s Hospice is set to hold its first Family Bikeathon challenge on Sunday, March 13, starting from Norton Parish Hall in Littleworth, near Worcester.
Participants can choose from a five, 10 or 15-mile route – all of which are mainly on quiet country lanes, or designated cycle routes.
Alison Parkes, Hospice Fundraiser, said: “Now winter’s nearly over, we can’t wait to get back on our bikes for this fun family-friendly challenge.
“Each route takes in some lovely south Worcestershire countryside, with the two longer courses passing by Croome Court.
“This is a great chance to get together with loved ones, make new memories, and achieve something special in support of St Richard’s. And, everyone who takes part will get a medal too!
“We’re asking all our cyclists to raise as much sponsorship as possible to help us continue caring for patients, their loved ones, and bereaved people across the county.”
On the day, there will be mechanical support available from Dr Bike at Norton Parish Hall before cyclists set off.
A family ticket – of either two adults, two children, or one adult and three children – is £20, with a minimum sponsorship of £40. An adult ticket is £10, and a child’s ticket is £5. Entry for children aged under three is free.
All children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There should be a maximum of four children supervised by one adult.

St Richard’s Hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness, improving their quality of life from diagnosis, during treatment and to their last days. It also supports their loved ones.
Each year the hospice team supports more than 2,900 patients, family members and bereaved people in Worcestershire.
It costs £8.75m to run the hospice (20/21 audited accounts), which includes patient care and all the necessary support services.
St Richard’s is an independent charity and relies on donations and gifts in Wills for the majority of its income with the remainder funded by the NHS.
