Celebrate the bank holiday weekend with cut-price NDubz tickets

Tickets for hip-hop and grime trio N-Dubz’s open-air gig in Derby are being slashed for the bank holiday weekend to help with the cost-of-living crisis.

NDubz will be headlining an open-air gig in June as part of their first summer UK tour in 11 years. Tulisa, Dappy and Fazer will play at the Incora County Ground on June 24 after the group reformed earlier this year.

The band have several support acts lined-up with more big names to be announced – including a chart-topping DJ – with promotors wanting to create the vibe of a summer festival.

Tickets for the concert have been selling at £45, but from midnight Friday the tickets are being reduced to £30 until the end of the bank holiday weekend on Monday night offering a one-off chance to grab a bargain.

Tour promotor Nathan Thaker, of Icons Talent, said: “We really want to create a summer festival vibe for this gig and have some additional great names due to be announced soon.

“We’ve had rubbish weather so far this year, but now it feels like summer has finally arrived we thought we’d get everyone in the party mood by offering cheaper tickets for a limited time only.

“NDubz have come back with a bang with a fantastic new single and this gig is brilliant news for the city of Derby. This is a one-off price slash though so I would urge anyway thinking of buying their tickets to move quickly.

“We’ve deliberately kept prices low because we know the cost-of-living crisis is having a real impact on the amount of money people have for life’s little luxuries. But we can guarantee this will be a night to remember.”

Love Islander turned singer Wes Nelson and local artist Olivia Mason, known as Lyvia, will perform at the gig, as well as singer songwriter Erin Bloomer, whose song SAD earned more than 60 million plays on Spotify.

Also warming up the crowds will be JK, a nominee in four categories at the PTC Punjabi Music Awards and winner of the Brit Asia World Music Awards Best Album Award 2011, who will appear on stage with DJ CZR a music producer and DJ based in Derby.

N-Dubz dominated the charts for six years between 2006 and 2012. They have sold 1.3 million albums, with their first two albums Uncle B and Against All Odds certified Platinum in the UK. In 2009 they hit No.1 on the UK Singles Chart with Number 1 – their smash-hit collaboration with Tinchy Stryder.

The band has won four MOBO awards – Best Newcomer in 2007, Best Album and Best Act in 2009 and Best Song in 2010 for their single Playing with Fire. They also won a O2 Silver Clef Award in 2009 and were nominated for Best British Single at the BRITs in 2010.

They returned last year with the release of their new single Charmer – a typical N-Dubz song featuring the trademark storytelling of Dappy and Fazer, alongside vocals from Tulisa. Local entrepreneur Nathan Thaker, owner of city-based Icons Talent, has arranged the concert in a departure from the company’s usual role of bringing actors to film on location in the county.
