Lock them up and throw away the key – until they’ve raised their bail money!
Derian House is still on the lookout for CEO’s, Directors, and high profile individuals to take part in the Chorley charity’s most outrageous event of the year.
Bail Me Out (Friday 23 September) will see top bosses from Lancashire firms thrown in the slammer until they have raised £999 for the children’s hospice – with only their phones and laptops to help them.
Charged with make-believe crimes like ‘being the office seagull and pinching food’, ‘hotel dressing gown theft’, and ‘crimes against comedy – due to dad jokes’, the criminals will be banished to the cells of The Vaults Bar and Bistro in Chorley.
And that’s not all – this year, prisoners will be given another chance to prove their innocence.
Clues, escape tools, and cash will be hidden by local businesses around Chorley town centre for the criminals to find during their ‘yard time’ to help bump up their bail.
Everything raised on the day will help to care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions from across the North West of England.
One of the big bosses taking part is Jon Eastwood, a Finance Director at Canopies UK.
Jon, 42, of Longridge, said: “The launch of our support for Derian House as our Charity of the Year coincided with their Bail Me Out challenge – what a good way to get things started!
“I’m very much looking forward to the event, even though I have no idea what the day will entail! Knowing that the money raised will directly help families in need create happy memories together makes it all so worthwhile.
“I’m very competitive so I’ll do anything it takes to get to the £999 and get to it quickest. Take no prisoners!”
Ellie Smith, Community Fundraiser at Derian House, said: “Derian’s most outrageous event is almost here, it would be a crime to miss out!
“Bail Me Out is very tongue-in-cheek and a lot of fun for everyone involved, but it also helps to raise vital funds for poorly children and their families who visit Derian House.
“Care is free for families, but it costs £5.7million a year to run services at Derian House. With just 17% of our funding coming from statuary sources, we rely on the kindness of our incredible supporters – including our convicts!”
Bail Me Out launched in 2019 and raised an incredible £40,000 for Derian House’s 450 children, young people and their families.
