A Birmingham business outsourcing specialist has donated £1,000 from its Community Foundation to West Midlands charity, Rape and Sexual Violence Project (RSVP).
Sigma Connected, which provides contact centre services for the utilities, retail, telecommunications and financial sectors, has given the money to the charity to support its work in helping victims of rape and sexual abuse across Birmingham and Solihull.
The charity was nominated by Barbara, a real-time analyst at the company, who has experienced the support of RSVP.
Barbara said: “I will never forget the help I received by the team at RSVP so I wanted to do something to give back to them.
“I had the charity’s full support three years ago after I experienced an incident on a bus in Birmingham. They found me counselling from a specialist team and helped me overcome some horrific panic attacks I ensured for months after the incident. I couldn’t have got through those initial weeks and months without them.
“The work RSVP do is invaluable and I hope our donation will allow the team to continue its expert work with both females and males across the region.”

Our work across Birmingham and into Solihull is all about engaging with people who have suffered any kind of sexual violence and to do that we need as much backing as possible.
