Olympian Colin Jackson presents Emma McMillan with her award at the Qube Learning award ceremony #QubeAwards2019

Emma McMillan from Kettering has been recognised as Outstanding Achiever of the Year by leading training provider, Qube Learning. Emma undertook a Leadership and Management Level 4 programme at Claremont Parkway Nursing Home (Brighterkind) and her achievements were celebrated at the Qube Learning Awards ceremony, at the stunning location of Proud Embankment in central London on the 16th May.

The inspiring occasion was hosted by the famous Silver Medallist and World Record Holder, Colin Jackson CBE, who said “It was such an honour to give Emma her award. She has shown passion and drive, and really deserves this label. With so many incredible stories, I really do champion Apprenticeship and Traineeships and hope it motivates people to consider this rewarding education route. They can help create opportunities that can carve out positive paths for people that never thought that possible. Dreams really can become reality with the right guidance and mentoring, and Qube Learning certainly provides that.”

Emma’s career in the health care sector started in 2012 when she became a part time Care Assistant, during that time she also completed a Health and Social Care Level 2 programme. Soon after, she then became a Team Leader and Home Trainer and undertook the Level 3 and 4 Leadership and Management qualification and was promoted again to an Admission and Discharge Co-Ordinator.

Under the close mentorship of Qube Learning, Emma has had to overcome challenges at work and in her personal life however, she has shown true passion to keep progressing, so she can be a great role model to her children. Not only has she seen her self-esteem grow, Emma counts recently being promoted to Deputy Manager as a huge accomplishment.

Emma says “Receiving the Outstanding Achievement award of the Year award is truly one of my greatest achievements. Qube Learning has helped me grow, expand my knowledge and I feel like I can do anything! Since starting with the training provider, I’ve had three promotions and I am looking to continue my development with them. My advice to anyone considering this route is don’t be afraid, whatever age you are it’s a great time to start learning. Qube Learning and Claremont Parkway Nursing Home (Brighterkind) has motivated me to succeed and saw my capabilities and I can now look forward to a very bright future”.

Emma’s continuously expanding expertise has allowed her to feel competent and ready to combat any tasks that come her way, and she is looking to forward to gaining a wider knowledge to benefit her role further.

Joe Crossley, CEO of Qube Learning said: “Apprenticeships are a great way for people to learn and earn experience in a professional set-up. Each day we come across so many exceptional individuals like Emma who have shown great determination to get where they are today, and that is why we hold this event every year to celebrate their credible passion.”
