Quiz night to raise funds for charity

A quiz night is being held in Ludlow to raise money for charity – and give local professionals the opportunity to get together in an informal setting.

The quiz is being arranged by law firm Lanyon Bowdler and takes place at Ludlow Brewery in Station Drive on Thursday, March 23. It is open to anyone and teams of four are being urged to sign up now to take part.

Entry is £10 per team member and the evening, which runs from 6.30pm until 9.30pm, also includes food at half time and a raffle. There will be a prize for the winning team on the night.

Amanda Jones, of Lanyon Bowdler, said: “Our quiz night is a fun and informal way of meeting clients and friends while raising money for two great causes – West Mercia Search & Rescue and Connect For Life.

“West Mercia Search & Rescue is an organisation which is always on call and its volunteers do a terrific job in finding missing people, saving lives in times of flooding, whilst also sadly helping to recover bodies in a dignified way so families can have that all-important closure, whilst also responding to other emergencies alongside partner agencies.

“Connect For Life is based in Oswestry and supports older people, particularly those with memory loss or dementia, by providing opportunities to meet other people in a safe, welcoming, caring environment.

“Funding is of course essential for all local charities, which is why we want to help through our quiz.

“It will be a great night and we are looking for teams of four to come and join in, at £10 per head. We would also like to hear from anyone wishing to donate prizes for our raffle.

“Doors open at Ludlow Brewery, The Railway Shed, Station Drive at 6.30pm and the quiz gets underway at 7pm prompt.”

The bar will be open and the entry fee includes chip shop chips and bread rolls at half time, or people can bring along their own picnic if they prefer.

Tony Price will be the quizmaster and his quizzes, which include fun themed rounds, are suitable for all abilities.
